Dr Zaahid Pandie (MBChB FRACP PEM FACEM)

Dr Zaahid brings over 20 years of experience in General and Paediatric Emergency Medicine. A Senior Staff Specialist and respected educator, he has played a pivotal role in ACEM Exam preparation for more than a decade. He has contributed to the development of renowned programs including APEM, AFEM, and PEMRevision.

His work extends beyond hospitals, with significant involvement in international medical missions across South Africa, Fiji, and India. Passionate about equitable access to education, Zaahid has long championed the use of online platforms to support advanced trainees in remote parts of Australia.

His leadership, clinical expertise, and commitment to education make him an invaluable member of our team. His passion for education and patient care sets a benchmark for excellence in medical practice.

Dr Phillip Manczak FACEM

As the Clinical Director at Shellharbour Hospital and former DEMT in the Illawarra Shoalhaven/Wollongong Region, Dr. Phillip Manczak is celebrated for his unwavering commitment to medical education. With a passion that radiates from the hospital floor, to regional programs and our OSCE course, Phil inspires a love for learning in each student he encounters.

Navigating the turbulent waters of the pandemic, Phil’s completion of the OSCE exam as a regional trainee showcases his adaptability and resilience. This firsthand experience uniquely equips him to navigate and excel in the latest exam formats, ensuring his students are fully prepared for success.

Mastery in OSCE communication and ACEM domain requirements characterizes his approach, as he fosters an environment of expertise and empathy, where every student is empowered to thrive through a blend of expert knowledge and enriching experiences.

Dr Emily Law MBChB FRACP PEM FACEM

Dr Emily Law is originally from Wales where she completed her undergraduate medical degree before moving to Australia in 2011. She completed her training in General Paediatrics and PEM via the FRACP before completing dual fellowship as a FACEM PEM. She currently works in Queensland Children’s hospital where her interest in education is reflected in her non clinical roles as DEMT and part of the registrar education team. Emily also works at Bond University as one of the medical facilitators in their Sim program and also is an APLS instructor.

Dr Yuri Gilhotra (MBBS (Hons) (Syd) FRACP FACEM)

Dr Yuri Gilhotra brings a wealth of clinical and academic experience to the Ace Ed team. He currently holds a number of roles including Senior Medical Coordinator for Retrieval Services Queensland, Prehospital and Retrieval Medicine specialist for LifeFlight, Australia and is a Senior Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine at the Queensland Children’s Hospital.

He is passionate about education and has developed and delivered multiple educational programs locally, nationally and internationally. He has an established research track record with multiple peer review publications including the Lancet. He is an avid golfer and has two teenage boys who keep him on his toes and are the joy of his life.

Dr Tatum Bond MBBS FACEM

Dr Tatum Bond is a proud Ngadjonji woman and the first identified First Nations FACEM in Queensland. Based in Cairns, she works in the Emergency Department and also undertakes retrieval shifts with the RFDS.

Tatum is a passionate advocate for cultural safety in emergency medicine, using real patient stories to drive meaningful change and improve outcomes. She is also a dedicated educator, guiding advanced trainees through the exam process with insight and encouragement.

Outside of work, she enjoys camping, reef trips, and spending time with her three dogs.

Dr. Julian Wong FACEM PEM MBBS Dip Child Health BPharm

Dr Julian works at Logan Hospital and brings a recent trainee’s perspective to the fellowship exam journey. Having overcome the common challenge of study procrastination, he now shares his insights to support others on the same path.

He trained across several Brisbane hospitals, including QCH, PAH, TPCH, and Logan. His passion is in the provision of quality paediatric emergency critical care, upskilling the team around him and integrating digital hospital efficiently in daily practice. In his spare time, as is archetypal for his gender and ethnicity, he is an avid gamer and technophile but also enjoys road cycling, photography and electric rideables. He is delighted to have the opportunity to share his experiences with candidates so they don’t make the same mistakes in their fellowship journey!

Dr Seira Ikeuchi BS, MA, MBBS, FACEM, DipPHRM

Seira is originally from a tiny, picturesque subtropical island of Okinawa in Japan. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biology in the USA with the view to doing medicine but following graduation took a gap year to spend time in Costa Rica doing her Master’s in International Law and Human Rights. In 2011, Seira made the bold move to Australia to pursue her passion for medicine. She is currently a Staff Specialist at Nepean Hospital (NSW) and also thrives as a retrieval doctor, showcasing her versatility. Beyond her professional endeavors, Seira finds solace in exploration and adventure. Whether she's traversing new landscapes, camping under the stars, or scaling cliffs in exhilarating rock climbing escapades, Seira embraces life with a spirit of adventure.

Samantha Abu Hadid MBBS FACEM Clin Dip Pall Med

Samantha made the bold leap from Anaesthetics to Emergency Medicine and never looked back. With a special interest in Palliative Medicine, she now divides her time between the fast-paced frontline of a regional ED in Noosa and the more nuanced world of aged care outreach and palliative care across Brisbane’s Northside.

She brings a calm, compassionate approach to care — especially where Emergency and Palliative Medicine intersect — and a deep commitment to teaching that makes her a natural fit for our team.When she's not advocating for quality end-of-life care or supporting candidates on their fellowship journey, you'll find her wrangling teenagers, taming dogs, or passionately cheering on her beloved Brisbane Lions.

Dr Nick Sidler MBChB MMed(crit care) FACEM

Nick grew up in New Plymouth, New Zealand and went to medical school in Otago, graduating in 2011 and then came to Sydney to begin his journey as an intern on the Northern Beaches. With a Master’s degree in medicine (crit care) from Usyd and CCPU qualifications with ASUM he is working towards a DDU in the near future. Currently, a Staff Specialist at Concord Hospital, Director of Ultrasound Training as well as working as a VMO at several other hospitals in the region. He is also an Associate Lecturer at Sydney University and a course coordinator for the anatomy unit for the MMed degree. Nick is an ACE Education alumni, having been a part of the programme for both the Written and OSCE components and looks forward to working with our candidates and using his recent exam experiences to support Trainees through this dreaded exam. Outside of medicine, Nick is involved with the Emerald City Kickball league here in Sydney and is a social chair for his team. He also plays social tennis and loves to snowboard in Queenstown in the winter.

Nuraan is the operational heartbeat of our organisation — a dynamic Business Manager with strategic acumen and a deep-rooted passion for marketing, engagement, and educational innovation. With a forward-thinking approach, she has spearheaded the modernisation of our digital infrastructure, revolutionising the delivery of Fellowship education across Australasia. Her leadership during the pandemic was instrumental in maintaining seamless access to specialist educators, ensuring that high-quality training never missed a beat.

Her role encompasses far more than business operations. As the first point of contact for candidates, she provides timely guidance, practical solutions, and unwavering support throughout the demanding exam journey. With deep expertise in ACEM exam coordination and strong professional relationships across the emergency medicine network, Nuraan ensures every candidate feels supported, seen, and empowered. Whether it’s strategic planning, tech implementation, or day-to-day troubleshooting, she is the engine that drives our mission forward .
