The ACEM Fellowship Written Examination demands more than factual recall. Candidates must interpret complex presentations, prioritise competing risks and communicate safe, consultant-level decisions under strict time pressure.

Our Written Exam Course is a comprehensive preparation pathway designed around these demands. Across a structured six-month teaching cycle, we cover more than 800 core ACEM topics, transforming the breadth of the syllabus into a focused and manageable program.

Teaching is delivered by experienced FACEM and PEM FACEM educators across adult and paediatric emergency medicine. The course develops the clinical knowledge, reasoning, prioritisation and exam technique required for both the SAQ and MCQ components of the Written Examination.

More Than 500 Hours of Structured Education

The program incorporates more than 500 hours of teaching, exam practice and targeted revision, including over 800 syllabus-aligned SAQs.

Candidates learn to:

Live teaching includes worked SAQs, model answers and detailed discussion of how marks are awarded. Candidates learn not only what to know, but how to organise and communicate that knowledge effectively.

Intensive Trial Examination Program

The Trial Exam phase includes 14 online examinations conducted under exam conditions.

Papers are marked by experienced FACEM and PEM FACEM teams. Candidates receive detailed SAQ and MCQ feedback, model answers and targeted guidance on knowledge gaps, answer structure and clinical prioritisation. This repeated cycle of examination, expert feedback and revision builds the consistency, precision and stamina required for exam day.

Final High-Yield Preparation

Approximately one month before the examination, candidates attend an intensive three-day live virtual course. The course consolidates high-yield clinical material, revisits commonly examined themes and focuses on the frameworks, decisions and strategies most likely to improve performance.

Flexible Membership

Membership provides access across one or two examination cycles, allowing candidates to prepare at a sustainable pace or defer when circumstances change.
